We are 16 days away from leaving Buffalo and going to the Dominican Republic. As it gets closer to the trip, I am excited, but also super nervous. This is my first time ever traveling by plane! Also, this is the farthest I will ever be from my family and the longest I will be away from my mom and my dog. I am also very nervous because I do not know a lot of Spanish. I have been slowly learning on Duolingo, but I am no where close to being fluent. I hope that during the trip, my Spanish improves and I hope I really step out of my comfort zone and try new things! I am really excited to immerse myself in the Dominican Republic culture and bond with the girls at the Mariposa Foundation. I am also looking forward to conducting research with my peers. Additionally, I hope to connect more with my classmates! I am super excited and I know this is an experience I will never forget!

AuthorHi! I am a junior at Buffalo State majoring in Psychology and minoring in Coaching. I currently work at a preschool and really enjoy working with kids. In the future, I hope to coach a high school girls swim team and maybe work with kids as a school counselor. This experience is really out of my comfort zone but I am excited to learn and grow in any way I can while I am in the Dominican Republic! ArchivesCategories |
