This year for Christmas I didn't ask for much because to be honest I didn't feel I needed anything. I did ask my brother and sister a long time ago for a Polaroid camera and this year they gave me this as a gift. They thought it'd be a perfect way for me to capture my memories while I am in the Dominican Republic. Now that it's a few days before I go, I cannot wait to put this camera to use! I must admit I am overwhelmed but in a good way. I am overwhelmed with excitement and just thoughts of what exactly I'll see and encounter. There are so many things I am excited for. I cannot wait to see how the schools will be and how the students learn in the Dominican Republic. I know this experience will only make me a better future educator. I am also very excited to see who we'll be paired up with at the Mariposa Foundation. I know that my peers and I will learn so much from these young females just like they'll be learning from us. Last but not least, I am so ready to learn more about the culture and the way the people are in the Dominican Republic. I am so ready to grow as a person and allow all the experiences I encounter to have a positive impact on my life. The days are only getting closer and I could never be more prepared.
