The time has come! In less than 48 hours, we will be embarking on our journey to the Dominican Republic for two and a half weeks. I am excited. I am nervous. I am half way packed, but I am ready! I'm ecstatic to grow and give my all to the experience that awaits me and my cohorts. My nerves have gotten the best of me though, don't get me wrong. I've cried thinking of how much I will miss my best friend and love Mike, my precious niece Vera Jean, and my supportive parents Mark and Kathy. I have panicked thinking of all of the things that need to be accomplished before I leave, during our time there, and after our return. Finally today though, on the first day of 2017, I took a deep breath and let it all go. My fears are on the backburner and will not let them get in the way of this experiene and reaching my full potential throughout these next few weeks. What a way to kick start the year! I have high hopes for 2017 and I cannot wait to see what this Dominican trip holds for myself and the wonderful ladies that will be going along. I am most excited to meet the girls in the Dominican Republic and finally get to share love and joy with them. I want to make a difference. I want to make just one person's life a little better by being there. My excitement is through the roof, and though I am sad to leave the one's I love, I know that this is the most important thing I am to do right now. Tuesday is so close, and I can hardly wait!

AuthorI am a fourth year student at Buffalo State finishing up my degree in Special education (hopefully next year). I cannot wait to embark on this exciting trip to the Dominican to help other girls and boys and to share laughter and love. My favorite things include music, words, and love. I am outgoing and adventurous and love long walks on the beach. ArchivesCategories |
